Ingredients
Yield: 6 servings
Main
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 (1 oz) packet taco seasoning
- 2/3 cup water
- 12 crunchy taco shells
- 1 cup shredded cheddar or Mexican blend cheese
- Your favorite taco toppings: shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, sour cream, salsa, etc.
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Arrange crunchy taco shells open-side up in a 9x13 inch baking dish or on a baking sheet lined with foil.
Step 2
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks. Drain any excess grease.
Step 3
Stir in the taco seasoning and water. Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the liquid has mostly absorbed and the meat is well seasoned.
Step 4
Spoon about 2 tablespoons of the seasoned ground beef into each taco shell. Sprinkle about 1 tablespoon of shredded cheese over the meat in each shell.
Step 5
Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the taco shells are heated through and extra crispy.
Step 6
Carefully remove from the oven. Serve hot with your favorite taco toppings.
Tips
- For a vegetarian option, substitute the ground beef with seasoned black beans or a plant-based crumble.
- Don't overload the shells before baking, or they might spill out. You can always add more toppings after baking!
