Say hello to your new favorite go-to salmon recipe! This Weeknight Garlic Butter Salmon is incredibly delicious and unbelievably simple. Pan-seared to flaky perfection and bathed in a ridiculously flavorful garlic butter sauce, it's a meal that feels fancy but comes together in under 20 minutes. No need for special occasions when you can have this any night of the week!
Ingredients
Yield: 2 servings
Main
- 2 (6 oz) salmon fillets, skin on or off
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Preparation
Step 1
Pat salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Season generously with salt and black pepper on both sides.
Step 2
Heat olive oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add salmon fillets skin-side down (if applicable). Cook for 4-5 minutes until the skin is crispy and golden, and the salmon is cooked halfway up the sides.
Step 3
Flip the salmon fillets. Add butter and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook for another 3-4 minutes, basting the salmon with the melting butter and garlic mixture, until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
Step 4
Remove skillet from heat. Stir in fresh lemon juice. Spoon the garlic butter sauce over the salmon. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and serve immediately.
Tips
- Don't overcrowd the pan; cook one fillet at a time if your skillet isn't large enough to give them space.
- Serve with roasted asparagus or a simple green salad for a complete meal.
