Ingredients

Yield: 4 servings

Main

  • 1 tbsp neutral oil (like canola or vegetable)
  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated (or 1 tsp ground ginger)
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 8 oz spaghetti or ramen noodles
  • 2 green onions, sliced, for garnish

Preparation

  1. Step 1

Cook noodles according to package directions; drain and set aside.

  2. Step 2

While noodles cook, heat oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add ground pork and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.

  3. Step 3

Add minced garlic and grated ginger to the skillet; cook for 1 minute until fragrant.

  4. Step 4

In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, sesame oil, and chicken broth. Pour the sauce over the pork in the skillet.

  5. Step 5

Bring the sauce to a simmer and cook for 3-5 minutes, allowing it to thicken slightly.

  6. Step 6

Add the cooked noodles to the skillet with the pork and sauce. Toss everything together until the noodles are well coated.

  7. Step 7

Serve immediately, garnished with sliced green onions.

Tips

  • Add a pinch of red pepper flakes with the garlic for a little heat.
  • Stir in some steamed broccoli or shredded carrots at the end for extra veggies.
