Ingredients
Yield: 4 servings
Main
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 lb ground pork
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
- 1/2 head green cabbage, thinly sliced
- 8 oz ramen noodles (discard seasoning packets)
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional, but recommended)
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- Green onions, sliced, for garnish
- Sesame seeds, for garnish
Preparation
Step 1
Cook ramen noodles according to package directions. Drain, rinse with cold water, and set aside.
Step 2
Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add ground pork and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
Step 3
Add onion to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes until softened. Stir in garlic and ginger and cook for 1 minute more until fragrant.
Step 4
Add sliced cabbage to the skillet and stir-fry for 5-7 minutes, until tender-crisp. Don't overcook, you want a little bite!
Step 5
In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), rice vinegar, sesame oil, and chicken broth.
Step 6
Add the cooked noodles and the sauce to the skillet with the pork and cabbage. Toss everything together until well combined and heated through. Cook for 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.
Step 7
Serve immediately, garnished with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
Tips
- Instead of ramen, you can use lo mein noodles or even spaghetti in a pinch.
- Adjust the amount of ginger and garlic to your preference.
- Add a splash of sriracha or a pinch of red pepper flakes for a little heat.
