Ingredients
Yield: 4 servings
For the Meatballs
- 1 lb ground pork (or ground turkey/beef)
- 1/4 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1 large egg, lightly beaten
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp grated fresh ginger
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
For the Honey Sriracha Glaze
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tbsp sriracha (adjust to taste)
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tsp grated fresh ginger
- 1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 1 tbsp water (slurry)
For Serving
- Toasted sesame seeds
- Sliced green onions
- Cooked rice or noodles
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
Step 2
In a large bowl, combine all meatball ingredients: ground pork, panko breadcrumbs, egg, minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, and black pepper. Mix gently until just combined (do not overmix). Roll the mixture into 1-inch meatballs and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
Step 3
Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until cooked through and lightly browned.
Step 4
While meatballs are baking, prepare the glaze: In a small saucepan, whisk together honey, sriracha, soy sauce, rice vinegar, minced garlic, and grated ginger over medium heat. Bring to a gentle simmer. Add the cornstarch slurry and whisk constantly for 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens to your desired consistency.
Step 5
Once meatballs are cooked, remove them from the oven. You can either toss the meatballs directly in the glaze or brush the glaze generously over them. Serve immediately, garnished with toasted sesame seeds and green onions, alongside rice or noodles.
Tips
- Don't overmix the meatball mixture, as this can make the meatballs tough.
- Adjust the sriracha in the glaze to your taste – add more for extra heat, less for a milder flavor.
