Honey Garlic Pork Tenderloin

Pork tenderloin is truly a weeknight wonder – lean, quick-cooking, and incredibly versatile! This Honey Garlic Pork Tenderloin recipe elevates it with a sticky, savory-sweet glaze that's utterly irresistible. It’s simple enough for any night of the week but impressive enough for company!

Ingredients

Yield: 4 servings

Main

  • 1.5 lb pork tenderloin
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Honey Garlic Glaze

  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp grated fresh ginger (optional)
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

Garnish (optional)

  • Sliced green onions
  • Sesame seeds

Preparation

  1. Step 1

Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Pat pork tenderloin dry with paper towels. Season generously with salt and pepper.

  2. Step 2

Heat olive oil in an oven-safe skillet (cast iron works great!) over medium-high heat. Sear the pork tenderloin for 2-3 minutes per side, browning all over.

  3. Step 3

While the pork sears, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, apple cider vinegar, fresh ginger (if using), and red pepper flakes (if using) in a small bowl.

  4. Step 4

Pour about half of the honey-garlic glaze over the seared pork tenderloin in the skillet. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven.

  5. Step 5

Roast for 12-18 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C) for medium-rare, or your desired doneness. During the last 5 minutes of cooking, brush the remaining glaze over the pork.

  6. Step 6

Remove from oven, transfer pork to a cutting board, and let rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing. This helps keep the juices in!

  7. Step 7

Slice and serve, drizzling any extra pan juices and glaze over the top. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds, if desired.

Tips

  • Don't skip resting the meat! It makes all the difference in tenderness.
  • If you don't have an oven-safe skillet, sear in a regular skillet and then transfer the pork to a baking dish before glazing and roasting.
  • This pairs beautifully with roasted asparagus, steamed green beans, or fluffy rice.
