Ingredients
Yield: 4 servings
Main
- 1.5 lb pork tenderloin
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Honey Garlic Glaze
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 tsp grated fresh ginger (optional)
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
Garnish (optional)
- Sliced green onions
- Sesame seeds
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Pat pork tenderloin dry with paper towels. Season generously with salt and pepper.
Step 2
Heat olive oil in an oven-safe skillet (cast iron works great!) over medium-high heat. Sear the pork tenderloin for 2-3 minutes per side, browning all over.
Step 3
While the pork sears, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, apple cider vinegar, fresh ginger (if using), and red pepper flakes (if using) in a small bowl.
Step 4
Pour about half of the honey-garlic glaze over the seared pork tenderloin in the skillet. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven.
Step 5
Roast for 12-18 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C) for medium-rare, or your desired doneness. During the last 5 minutes of cooking, brush the remaining glaze over the pork.
Step 6
Remove from oven, transfer pork to a cutting board, and let rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing. This helps keep the juices in!
Step 7
Slice and serve, drizzling any extra pan juices and glaze over the top. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds, if desired.
Tips
- Don't skip resting the meat! It makes all the difference in tenderness.
- If you don't have an oven-safe skillet, sear in a regular skillet and then transfer the pork to a baking dish before glazing and roasting.
- This pairs beautifully with roasted asparagus, steamed green beans, or fluffy rice.
