Ingredients
Yield: 2 servings
Main
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Optional: red pepper flakes for a kick
Preparation
Step 1
Heat olive oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add broccoli florets and cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until tender-crisp and slightly charred.
Step 2
Push broccoli to one side of the pan. Add shrimp to the other side of the pan. Cook for 1-2 minutes per side, until pink and opaque.
Step 3
Add minced garlic and butter to the pan. Cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly, until garlic is fragrant and butter is melted. Toss everything together, then stir in lemon juice, parsley, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).
Step 4
Serve immediately. This dish is great on its own or with a side of rice or pasta.
Tips
- Ensure shrimp are fully thawed and patted dry before cooking for the best sear.
- Don't overcook the shrimp, as they can become rubbery quickly.
- Add a splash of white wine with the butter for an extra layer of flavor.
