Who said eating your greens had to be boring? This Crispy Parmesan Broccoli is about to become your new favorite side dish! Roasting at a high temperature with a generous sprinkle of garlic and Parmesan turns ordinary broccoli into a deeply flavorful, slightly charred, and totally addictive treat. Seriously, you might just find yourself eating it straight off the sheet pan!
Ingredients
Yield: 4 servings
Main
- 1 large head of broccoli, cut into bite-sized florets
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)
- Lemon wedges, for serving
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper for easier cleanup.
Step 2
In a large bowl, combine broccoli florets, olive oil, and minced garlic. Toss to coat evenly.
Step 3
Add grated Parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using) to the bowl. Toss again until the broccoli is well coated with the cheese mixture.
Step 4
Spread the seasoned broccoli in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Ensure there's a little space between florets to encourage crisping.
Step 5
Roast for 12-15 minutes, or until the broccoli is fork-tender and the edges are nicely browned and crispy. Keep an eye on it to prevent burning.
Step 6
Serve immediately with fresh lemon wedges for squeezing over top.
Tips
- For extra crispiness, avoid overcrowding the baking sheet; use two if necessary.
- Leftovers (if there are any!) are great added to omelets or salads.
