Ingredients

Yield: 4 servings

Main

  • 4 boneless pork chops (about 1-inch thick)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp dried Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish

Preparation

  1. Step 1

Pat pork chops dry with paper towels and season generously on both sides with salt and pepper.

  2. Step 2

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add pork chops and sear for 4-5 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature reaches 145°F). Remove pork chops from skillet and set aside.

  3. Step 3

Reduce heat to medium. Add butter to the skillet, letting it melt. Add minced garlic, Italian seasoning, and thyme, cooking for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

  4. Step 4

Pour in chicken broth and scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Bring to a simmer, then stir in heavy cream. Cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly.

  5. Step 5

Return the cooked pork chops to the skillet, spooning the creamy sauce over them. Simmer for 1-2 minutes to heat through. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately.

Tips

  • Ensure your pork chops are patted very dry before searing to get a beautiful golden crust.
  • For a slightly thinner sauce, use half-and-half instead of heavy cream.
  • Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or steamed green beans to complement the rich sauce.
