Get ready for a flavor explosion in under 30 minutes! This Creamy Garlic Butter Shrimp is incredibly simple to make, yet tastes like something you'd get at a fancy restaurant. The rich sauce coats every succulent shrimp, making it perfect for serving over pasta, rice, or with a crusty piece of bread to sop up all that goodness.
Ingredients
Yield: 2 servings
Main
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup chicken or vegetable broth
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Preparation
Step 1
Heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter in a large skillet or pan over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer and cook for 1-2 minutes per side, until pink and opaque. Remove shrimp from the pan and set aside.
Step 2
Add the remaining 1 tablespoon of butter to the skillet. Sauté the minced garlic for 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
Step 3
Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a simmer, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Stir in the heavy cream and lemon juice and let the sauce simmer for 2-3 minutes, until slightly thickened.
Step 4
Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet and toss to coat in the creamy sauce. Stir in the fresh parsley. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve immediately.
Tips
- Don't overcrowd the pan when cooking the shrimp; cook in batches if necessary.
- Serve this over linguine, rice, or with a side of crusty bread for a complete meal.
